To achieve Reese Witherspoon’s Red Carpet hair and post-ceremony hair, Celebrity Hairdresser Mark Townsend styled her hair using the following tips:

Materials needed to recreate Reese Witherspoon’s 2009 Oscars celebrity hairstyle:
–    Vavoom Volumizing Foam
–    large Spornette Mixed Bristle round brush
–    FHI Heat Nano Salon Pro 2000 hairdryer
–    Biolage Molding Souffle
–    Ponytail holder
–    bobby pins
–    hairpins
–    Vavoom Gold Heat Iron-In Control (for the after-party look)
–    FHI Heat Curling iron (for the after-party look)

“I applied Vavoom Volumizing Foam to her damp hair and blow dried with a large Spornette Mixed Bristle round brush and an FHI Heat Nano Salon Pro 2000 hairdryer,” he said. “When all the hair was dry, I applied Biolage Molding Souffle to give the hair shine and piecey-ness. Next I gathered the hair in a ponytail at the nape of the neck and then twisted it into a textured knot and used bobby pins to secure the knot and I used hairpins to shape the knot into an uneven chignon with lots of loose pieces.

“For the after-parties I took Reese’s hair down and gave it a quick brush out. Then I took three-inch sections of hair and sprayed them with Vavoom Gold Heat Iron-In Control and wrapped them around a FHI Heat Curling iron to create a shiny, loose wave all over her head. I then pulled the side pieces back and secured them with bobby pins and let a few hairs around the face fall out for softness.”
