ChapSticks, Lip Balms, and Lip Glosses to Love

I guess the first step is admitting it. eos Summer Fruits Organic Lip Balm Smooth SphereOK, here goes. Hi, my name is Kate and I’m addicted to lip balm. I’m one of those girls who constantly has a lip gloss in her pocket, about 3 more in her purse, and who knows how many MIA or just floating about my coat pockets, backpacks, spare purses, and possessions. I’m the kind of person who rarely forgets to bring ChapStick or lip balm with me wherever I go, but when I do forget, it’s a travesty. In fact, it’s pretty much a sure thing that I’ll make a detour to the nearest drugstore so I can pick up a new pack of lip gloss or lip balm.

I’m pretty sure I’ve got about 95 to 100 ChapSticks, lip glosses, and lip balms floating around my house right now, if not more. I’ve got the classic ChapStick, trio of Blistex Smoothies, countless flavors of delicious and hydrating Softlips, tropical and creamy Alba Coconut, new eos pomegranate and a delightful tingly mint lip balm “ball;” I’ve got Bonne Bell of course, and some old Avon that I probably should toss, not to mention numerous flavors, colors and styles of unknown, generic lip goodies that I just haven’t finished or had the heart to toss to the trash yet.

In the spirit of sharing, I’ve decided to do a few quick reviews on some of my very favorite lip treats so that maybe you too will find a new type of lip balm that you simply cannot live without – why would you want to, anyway? After all, variety is the spice of life, and you can never have too many different flavors of lip balm, as far as I’m concerned.

Lip Balm to Love: eos – evolution of smooth – Organic Lip Balm Smooth Sphere and Smooth Stick
Products provided free to writer for reviewFirst and foremost, I get a wonderful, worthwhile reaction out of my husband every time I apply the eos organic lip balm smooth sphere to my lips. I received a sample of the smooth sphere in sweet mint, and it truly is a treat to use. This organic lip balm leaves your lips just the right amount of tingly – a refreshing and rejuvenating sensation with a delicious aroma to boot.

The smooth sphere features a round ball-like container that at first, I must admit, seemed tricky to open. I suppose I anticipated it being a snap hatch type lid, but instead, the lip balm smooth sphere twists to open directly in half.  Now that I know this, I’ve moved on to fully enjoy all the benefits of the eos organic lip balm smooth sphere in sweet mint. Firstly, the design of the container is meant to help keep us healthier so we don’t have to dip our fingertips into a tub of lip goo every time we want to soften up our smooch.

Next, the flavor reminds me of after dinner mints, and the lip balm delivers a nice, lingering tingling that’s sweet on the lips. While it probably won’t look right chilling out in your pocket like many traditional lip gloss sticks, this cool lip balm from eos fits comfortably in your purse and it’s very easy to find for quick application.

I also received a pomegranate raspberry flavored smooth stick from eos to try out. This pretty fuchsia colored lip balm container is about the size of a glue stick, maybe just a bit shorter. The flavor is subtle but appreciated, though just a bit waxy, unlike the sweet mint flavor. I think I’m just a raspberry snob and I’ve not yet warmed up to the pomegranate intruding on my favorite flavor of all time. At any rate, this nifty lip balm goes on clear and boasts Shea butter and vitamin E (as does the sweet mint).

Both products by eos are petrolatum free and paraben free. They are 95% organic and 100% natural, delivering healthy antioxidants to your skin. Eos organic lip balm products are available in Honeysuckle Honeydew, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint, Pomegranate Raspberry, and Vanilla Bean.

Organic lip balm by eos retails for $3.29 and up at drugstores, mass retailers, and Amazon.com. For more information, visit online at www.evolutionofsmooth.com.
