"As a fellow New Yorker (NYC) who moved to LA and went through a bit of culture shock, I can only imagine what a change it was for you to go from the Bronx to Oregon (I checked out your website!) FYI - I can't believe you just celebrated 60! You look fantastic! Okay, so here's the deal: I love your haircut but I would lose the warm blond streak. It pulls the focus away from your incredibly huge & light colored eyes. If you want to go for a contrasting streak (although I don't think you need it), I would go more toward ash blond rather than the gold. Keep it cool (ash) and it will tie better with your deep brunette hair and blue/green eyes. Everything will be in sync and not fragmented. I would go into dusty pinks and medium to charcoal grey shadows to pop your eyes and would use rosy blush and lips to complete the picture." - Jill Kirsch, of JillKirschColor.com *** "Simma...is obviously beautiful. Her inner beauty shines through her photos...with her smile and obvious confidence. From the photos I do not see any obvious skin issues. For her basic skin health and beauty I recommend she uses daily exfoliative cleanser- I prefer one with glycolic acid. A daily moisturizing sunscreen of spf 30 or higher and a night treatment cream with retinol. If she continues with this regimen, her skin will continue to be radiant and healthy." - Dr. Debra Luftman, dermatologist and co-author of The Beauty Prescription *** "Simma Lieberman is a beautiful and talented woman. Here are some tips to keep her image fresh in a youth obsessed industry." 1. "Simma has a beige undertone so it would be an wonderful and essential enhancement to warm up her skin tone. This will create a younger flushed look." 2. "Iluminizing the skin with a foundation or tinted moisturizer such as Chanel Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Fluid Makeup SPF 15, or Cover Girl Smoother's SPF 15. Both products provide for a youthful glow that doesn't fall into the lines." 3. "Simma has gorgeous cheek bones and can easily be enhanced with a swoop of Bronzer like the ones from Physicians formula or Bobbie Browns Brick blushes and bronzers. By contouring her cheekbones, jawline, and temple with bronzer and using a little blush to look fresh like Nars Orgasm or Copacabana it will create a beautiful healthy look." 4. "Play up those beautiful blue/green eyes. It can be done easily. Luckily with eyes that change color it gives diversity which means she can use purples, slate, browns, pinks, corals, and champagnes. She can also use green, brown, purple, slate, and even black eyeliner. Although less is always more. I find that on a woman of Simma's age it is usually nice to keep the eye makeup light and soft in the day, and for evening play up the colors by using the darker color all over the lid and highlighting from the darker color to the brow bone." 5. "Eyebrows are essential so please make sure to fill them in gently with a powder; pencil tends to turn red on the skin. Eyebrows really can make a person look younger and open up the eyes." 6. "Glossy lips are in and are youthful. They are sexy for day and night. Play up those lips and create a sexy pout. That is always good for business." 7. "Remember keep a dewy glow. Powder can be a necessary evil so keep it to a bare minimum and never under the eyes for fear of wrinkles." 8. "The best tip I can give Simma is to always smile. A happy person always is welcoming and looks young!" - Jacqui Phillips, make-up artist and president of Jacqui Phillips Cosmetics *** INNER BEAUTY "Simma radiates confidence in her photograph. Many women her age have begun to “dress down” as though they are trying to avoid attention, but she appears calm and radiant and completely comfortable with who she is, how she looks and how other people see her. Since she is in a communications profession and is obviously well-educated, I suspect part of her Inner Beauty comes from her ability to listen and empathize with others. I suggest that if she does not already, she get involved in a charitable cause that’s close to her heart. For successful women in high-pressure fields, nothing is better for stress and well-being than helping others." - Dr. Eva Ritvo, Associate Professor and Vice Chairman at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami |

Fashion Tips ...based on hair color, eye color, complexion, etc. |
"You have tons of color choices for clothing to compliment your coloring which will again draw the focus up to your eyes. Go for the jewel tones like royal purple, cobalt blue, fuchsia. For more color choices, you can visit my website (www.jillkirshcolor.com) and click on 'Deep Brunettes.' Some of the colors in clothing and makeup that are total 'fashion don'ts' for you are camel, rust, olive green and peach. I also suggest wearing silver (white gold, platinum!) instead of yellow gold jewelry (especially around the face - earrings, necklaces.) When the visual presentation in sync from head to toe, one's presence is strongly enhanced and the message they want to communicate to their audience just rides on that wave. Have fun!" - Jill Kirsch, of JillKirschColor.com *** "Simma has very striking looks and very distinct, angular features. My advice would be to soften up her look and opt for more elegant, classic pieces in richer tones like navy, eggplant, and burgundy as opposed to black, red, and cyan (blue)... the latter two, I saw on Simma's website. I'd like to see ivory on her to offset those rich tones. Since her hair is short (and really great on her, love the bangs!), I would lose the long, brightly-colored dramatic earrings and go with something small, but beautiful." - Kami Gray, author and TV / Film Wardrobe Stylist ![]() * Polyvore Set courtesy of Kami Gray |
