DIY Christmas Nail Design #1: Holly Leaf & Berries
To create a holly leaf and berries Christmas nail design on your fingernails, follow these steps:
1. Paint the desired basecoat, such as gold, silver, or another holiday color. You may also create a French manicure first, if you prefer.
2. Allow the basecoat to dry completely before beginning next step.
3. Using a green nail polish paint pen or simply green nail polish and a tiny paintbrush or toothpick, carefully design your holly leaf in a sweeping motion, similar to the outside of a spider web.
Note: If this style is too difficult or if you can’t keep your hands steady, paint a more abstract leaf, like a triangle or a slanted rectangle.4. Next to the first leaf, paint a second leaf that reaches downward toward the first.
5. Allow the green nail polish to dry completely.
6. Using the other end of the toothpick, a red nail polish pen, or a tiny paintbrush with red nail polish, paint three small, round dots in a triangle close together. These are your holly berries.
7. Seal the holiday nail design with a clear topcoat.
DIY Holiday Nail Design #2: Golden Holiday Stars or Star of David
To create fancy golden stars for your Christmas nail designs, follow these steps:
1. Paint the desired basecoat, such as sapphire blue, deep purple, or even ruby red.
2. Paint a second coat if needed.
3. Allow the basecoat to dry completely.
4. Using gold nail polish, gold glitter nail polish, or yellow nail polish with a nail pen, tiny paintbrush, or toothpick, paint a small star on either one select fingernail or on all fingernails. Depending on your preferences, paint a five-pointed or six-pointed star.
5. Allow the star or stars to dry completely.
6. Paint a clear topcoat to seal your holiday nail designs.
DIY Christmas Nail Design #3: Festive Holiday Santa Hats
To create festive holiday Santa hats for your Christmas nail designs, follow these steps:
1. Paint the desired basecoat, such as emerald green, gold, silver, or another color.
2. Paint a second coat if needed.
3. Allow the basecoat to dry completely.
4. Using a tiny paintbrush, red nail polish paint pen, or red nail polish and a toothpick, paint a tiny triangle for each Santa hat you wish to wear.
Note: You can choose only one special fingernail or do them all – it’s up to you.
5. Allow the red Santa hat or hats to dry completely.
6. Using white nail polish and the same art implement (toothpick, paintbrush, nail pen), place a white dot on the top point of the triangle.
7. While still using white, add some white trim to the base of the Santa hat.
8. Allow the white nail polish to dry completely.
9. Paint a clear topcoat to seal your holiday nail designs.
