Multiple Madness – Cosmetics Products that Multitask

I have had the absolute pleasure of spending the past three weeks on a vacation/work trip in my Motherland…. Australia. Whilst packing for my trip I had an epiphany, I must be more frugal with my packing. When you are as indecisive as I am and usually pack everything but the kitchen sink, this thought is pure genius… and easier said than done!

If you’re like me and find it next to impossible to pack only the bare essentials, then you may benefit from this article.  Cosmetic products that can be used for multiple purposes are a godsend to me as it allows me to save room for ‘other’ items such as clothes and shoes. Yes, I am admitting I am a chronic packer, and no, I am not ashamed to admit it!

My number one favorite multi-purpose cosmetic product is NARS Multiple. This little gem can be used for the eyes, cheeks, lips, and body. It is fool-proof and can be used on all skin types to create highlights or contours. I absolutely adore this product and it is a must in my everyday life.

Bobby Brown is synonymous for creating quality products that are loved by women worldwide. Bobby Brown Pot Rouge is a cream-based formula that provides a sheer, stained finish for both lips and cheeks. Pot Rouge comes in seven different colors, making perfect for all skin types.

MAC Strobe Cream or Liquid can be used alone of under foundation to add a beautiful glow to your skin. It can also be used as a highlighter to illuminate specific areas such as cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, or on your cupids bow.

My fascination with all things natural and paraben free is no secret…. enter Josie Maran Argan Oil. This little gem is a staple in my household! It is lightweight and rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It can be used on the face and body as a moisturizer, or to condition anything from cuticles to split ends.

Going on vacation? Well make sure Paw Paw Ointment makes it to the top of your packing list.  Paw Paw ointment is a true blue Aussie icon and is a miracle product in my eyes. This little power-house can be used as lip salve, a wound cleanser, and skin protector. It can take the itch out of bug bites and can reduce inflammation in sunburn.

I don’t know how I lived without any of these products and I can honestly say that they will be a part of my life for years to come. Do yourself and your bank account a favor and make them a part of your life too. I promise that you will be thankful you did!

Luscious Lips for Fall – Mary Kay 2010

I am trying to embrace being a grown up, and for me, that means embracing lip color. I’ve always played up my eyes and let my lips go with just a little Chapstick. But I’ve experimenting over the past few years and Mary Kay graciously provided two lip products for me to play with.

First up: Mary Kay Liquid Lip Color. Mary Kay describes this as a combination of a lipstick and a lip gloss: the pigmentation of a lipstick, the feel of a lip gloss. There were tons of things to like about this product: it’s easy to apply (almost mistake-proof), can be applied with a light or heavy touch, and feels good on the lips. The color choices were great, although some of them were similar to each other.

The only fault I had with this lip product, unfortunately, is something it does not claim to do: last a long time. Every time my lips touched anything, traces of color were left behind. By the end of an hour, my lips were back to natural. Fortunately, Liquid Lip Color is easily transportable for the many reapplications you will need. At $13 a pop, I’d hold out for something better.

Something like Mary Kay Creme Lipstick (also $13 per). Mary Kay introduces 11 new shades of their classic lip color, which gives tons of color variety from the dramatic to the natural for any kind of girl. This lipstick is creamy and dreamy and almost all of the colors I tried were flattering. I especially loved Copper Star and Sunlit Sand for a golden fall look, and Pink Passion and Sunny Citrus for a great date look. One day I’ll find a reason for Midnight Red. This lipstick even tasted good, but not so good that I was tempted to lick it off.

The colors look great and are easy to apply. Like the Liquid Lip Color, they aren’t particularly long-lasting, although they last longer than the Liquid Lip Color and with a lip gloss on top were fine. Bottom line: they looked fantastic and made my lips feel good which is almost good enough to break me of my chapstick-only lip policy.

Like with all Mary Kay products, you can get them online at www.marykay.com or by seeing your Mary Kay representative. I’d certainly recommend doing so!

Get the Look: Katie Holmes at the Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week Calvin Klein Presentation

Tips for the Face
To create a gorgeous glow and soft complexion like Katie Holmes had at the Calvin Klein Spring – Summer 2011 presentation at NYFW, try these tips from mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh:

2.    To mask any redness, apply mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Natural with the mark Foundation Brush (or similar products for your skin tone).
3.    Dab mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Light/Medium (or a similar product for your skin tone) around the nose and under your eyes.
4.     Set your foundation with mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Natural using the mark Powder Brush or your choice of similar products.
5.    To complete the look with a balanced and radiant glow, dust on some of the mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden (or your choice of color / product) to the cheeks and forehead and apply mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color Palette in Hush Baby (or your choice) to the apples of your cheeks with the mark Angled Contour Face Brush or a similar makeup brush.

How to Get Gorgeous Eyes like Katie Holmes
Katie’s eyes have just the right amount of emphasis at the NYFW Calvin Klein show. To get the look, follow these tips from mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh:

1.    Apply mark Please Hold Eye Primer in Light/Medium (or a similar product appropriate for your skin tone) to prep your eyes.
2.    Apply a combination of mark I-mark Custom Pick Eye shadow in Victorian Lace to the inner eyelids and Corset to the outer lid. Blend the color outwards with the mark All Over Eye Shadow Brush or your own eye shadow brush.
3.    Now smudge Corset into the crease of the eyelid and along the bottom lash line using the mark Hook Up Eyeliner Brush.
4.    To finish your eyes, apply two coats of mark Lash Splash Hook Up Mascara in Black (or use your favorite black mascara).

How to Get Pretty Pink Lips Like Katie Holmes

Two Cheek Products from Mary Kay

This week I tried two products to highlight my cheeks which premiered in Summer but will transfer flawlessly into Fall.

First up was a traditional powder blush: Mary Kay’s Mineral Cheek Color with new shades for 2010. Recently, I’ve moved away from powder blushes myself, but if you are lover of mineral wear, Mary Kay’s Mineral Cheek Color does last as long as it promises and brushes on well.

I tried the Citrus Bloom shade, which was beautiful in the compact, a really warm bright pink. If you’ve been following my reviews, then you might have picked up on the fact that I prefer natural-looking make-up, which this ain’t. The pink was just as bright on my cheeks as it was in the compact. So if you’re the kind of girl who likes to make a statement, then this is the cheek color for you.  I, on the other hand, will be using my new favorite product…

Mary Kay’s Cooling Bronzing Stick. This is a limited edition product designed to help women look tan without harmful summer rays. The stick allows for easy, blendable application wherever you wish the sun had left tan traces. I use it as a traditional bronzer, but it follows through on its promise to soothe the skin with moisture and a cooling touch. I’m not sure how Mary Kay does it, but my skin feels cool even while it looks sun-kissed. The color blends beautiful with all skin tones, providing a subtle, realistic glow without feeling greasy or wearing off. Basically, in short, I love love love it, and will be sad when it finally runs out. Fortunately, it looks like that will be a long time from now.

You can get either product if you consult with your local Mary Kay representative, who you can find at www.marykay.com. The Mineral Cheek Color retails for $10 a shade and the Bronzing Stick retails for $20 (and worth it!).

Breakthrough Beauty Products for Your Face

If you’re looking for a foundation with SPF protection or beauty cosmetics that are purely organic and eco friendly for both you and the environment, rest assured, the products below will do just that. In this beauty segment you’ll learn just how valuable these products were for me. I’ll share the news about an up and coming foundation that offers sun protection for your skin while still providing the right coverage and moisturizers needed to give you that beautiful lustrous finish. As well, we have an eco friendly product that will make you think twice about returning to your usual products.

Moisturizing Foundation with Sun Protection

The Product: Miracle SKIN Transformer SPF 20
is a breakthrough 3-in-1 formula that leaves skin completely transformed. Miracle SKIN comes in four shades (Transparent, Light, Medium, and Tan). Because there are only four shades, picking the right one should be easier… but if not, here’s a tip that can help you choose.

Tip: For any foundation, if you’re not really sure about a shade, combine two; one lighter and one darker. Blend them together (a pea sized dab of each) before applying. It helps if you apply each dab to the palm of your hand and rub with your middle finger. Using the middle finger usually helps apply it to your skin better and easier without a lot of pressure.

Founder & CEO: Sarah McNamara

Where to Buy: Be sure to mark your calendars because Miracle SKIN will be introduced sometime in August 2010. You can, however, request a free sample by visiting www.miracleskintransformer.com (while supplies last).

ARP: $48.00 (+ shipping and applicable taxes)

Pros: I like using this makeup because it really is a miracle worker for me.  I was born with bilateral cleft lip and have always had an issue with scars. To date I have undergone 23 facial surgeries. As a result, I have been lucky enough to be gifted with some beautiful “award winning” scars between my nose and upper lip. Yes, I’m being a little facetious but this stems from being very self conscious about my appearance.  I actually spend a lot of time applying makeup and cover-ups (and shopping for them) in hopes of one day finding that right miracle makeup that will do what others could not.

So far the results have been amazing and if I can gain enough courage by the end of this post to take a ‘self portrait’ and show you, I will.

While trying this foundation I noticed that the scars aren’t as deep, red, or even as noticeable. The makeup has truly boosted my self esteem and made me realize just how awesome it feels to look good. I should be a “paid” spokesperson for Miracle SKIN (joking- it’s just a joke… really).

CONS: Well, aside from the price (ARP: $48.00)… I haven’t experienced anything bad at this point. I’ve been using this makeup for two and a half weeks and have experienced nothing but good.

My Thoughts: This makeup will definitely leave your skin feeling smoother, more luminous than ever before (based on my opinion). The formulation hydrates and enhances skin tones while protecting you from the sun.

Organic Foundation and Powders

About the Product: Nvey Eco, made in Australia, is what you’d call a purely organic cosmetic line that is not only free of toxins and chemicals, but is also certified by the Organic Food Chain as well. Nvey Eco uses organic elements such as chamomile, corn silk, and jojoba oils. This enables you to get the most out of your product because it wears longer. The antioxidants of Vitamins A, C & E makes for an amazingly smooth finish and adds depth to the color all while offering an easier application.

Founder & Creative Director: Rohan J Widdison

Where to purchase: Nvey Eco can be purchase by visiting www.nveymakeup.com or by visiting Sephora online.

Pros: If you’re looking for an alternative to your usual makeup and are leaning towards something organic, Nvey Eco is a great place to start. Their products go on smooth, stay on long, and wear well. Personally, these products completed the look I was after.

Cons: Though these products are not very costly, only running a little higher than the average, I don’t mind paying it because I have used them before and know that they’re worth the cost. However, if you haven’t yet purchased, please be prepared to feel a little sticker shock.

My Thoughts: What I like most about Nvey Eco is that these cosmetics do not feel heavy. They don’t leave me feeling like I have a pound of makeup on nor do they rub away easily. Another thing I like is that the foundations and compact powders really cover nicely. They feel extremely soft when applying and stay this way throughout the day.

Disclosure: Product samples were provided by Nvey Eco and Miracle SKIN, through Dark PR, for the purpose of my candid review. I was not gifted with any monetary compensation nor does receiving product influence my thoughts and/or opinions.

Fall 2010 Makeup – Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in 10 New Shades

Every girl likes to play up her eyes every now and then, and Mary Kay is here to help! With a lot of muted colors coming at us for Fall 2010, what better way to add a little punch than killer eye shadow?

Pretty fall makeup colors review for Mary Kay 2010

Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color boasts high-impact color that is long-lasting, crease-resisting, and filled with antioxidants. I can attest to the long-lasting and crease resistant aspects, and take the antioxidant claim on faith as a bonus. I tried the Copper Glow and Almond shades through one grueling, sweaty, and hot East Coast day during the heat wave and my eye color did. not. budge. In full disclosure, I was also wearing a primer which helped, but the eye color certainly did its part.

Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color has added 10 new shades for 2010: White Lily, Silver Satin, Copper Glow, Almond, Midnight Star, Lavender Fog, Emerald, Peacock Blue, Black Pearl, and Azure. These 10 shades join 21 others already produced by Mary Kay. Mary Kay claims that each color is versatile enough for all skin tones, which I did not find to be the case. As a warm-toned girl, the blues and the greens did not flatter. The colors made for warm tones, however, looked fantastic. I got a ton of compliments on the Copper Glow, which has supplanted my more expensive copper eye color as my go-to shade. I can only imagine that the cool colors would pop just as beautifully on a cool-skinned girl.

Products provided free to writer for reviewEach eye color retails for $6.50 for a standard compact amount size of powder. To get your own, you can find a Mary Kay representative near you at www.marykay.com or call 1-800-Mary-Kay.

Back-to-School Beauty Tips for Teens and College Students

It’s hard to believe the summer is just about over! In a few short weeks we’ll be back to the books and all the rules of school. Whether you are starting a brand new school as a freshman or simply going back to your old school, don’t forget to think about your back-to-school beauty routine. From cool nail polish to the latest trends in eye color, you can freshen up your look for fall by the time you start the new school year.

As you prepare to get your back-to-school beauty regimen in place, keep in mind the rules of your school, especially if you attend Catholic school or private school. If your school does not have a dress code, skip below to the back-to school beauty suggestions. In case your school does have a dress code, just be sure you are familiar with it. A friend once told me her friend came into school with a short pixie haircut and was forced by the school to wear a wig until her hair grew out! To avoid getting in trouble or serving detention, make sure your makeup and hairstyle comply with the school’s dress code rules – for example, in terms of unusual dyed hair colors, excessive eye makeup, and so forth.

Back-to-School Beauty Tips for Nails
Painted fingernails show off a little bit about your own personal style. You can paint a manicure in your favorite colors, in your school colors to show a little team spirit, or a classy and timeless French manicure that will look great no matter what you decide to wear. If you are feeling more adventurous or artistic, consider adding some nail art to your manicures with Fimo, nail decals, or nail art pearls or rhinestones. Keep up with the fall nail polish trends for additional ideas of how you can do your nails for back-to-school time.

Back-to-School Beauty Tips for Eyes
When it comes to choosing your eye makeup, your own preferences may be different from the next. Individuality is good in appearance! You can use a few generic makeup tips, but don’t lose sight of your own sense of style and comfort. Eye makeup comes in countless shades, textures, and combinations. Mascara is a basic must-have for most girls. You can get mascara in a number of colors and styles – lengthening, thickening, waterproof, etc. If you want to look a little older or make your eyes pop, dark eyeliner is a good way to do that. You can also freshen up your look with pretty colored eyeliner like teal and purple.

As a best bet, make sure you check the makeup aisle for products that are designed with your particular eye color in mind. Physician’s Formula has options for brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes, and hazel eyes, making it super easy to know what eye shadow colors will look best on you.

Back-to-School Beauty Tips for Lips
Lip color really is a personal preference, but you can always enhance your look by keeping your skin tone in mind. Some people really do look better with neutral or brownish shades while others can totally rock pink, maroon, or red lipstick. Lipstick really isn’t a necessity for school, but you can wear it if you like. Perhaps a more fun option would be a lip stain, lip tar, or tinted lip gloss. Even if color isn’t your thing, you can enjoy all the flavors and lip softening effects of products like Bonne Bell Lip Smackers, Blistex Fruit Smoothies, Alba Coconut Crème Lip Balm, and Softlips Lip Balm. Many of these also include sunscreen (typically SPF15 or SPF20), making them perfect for your after-school activities and sports teams.

Back-to-School Beauty Tips for Hair
A new haircut is often a great way to start a new school year… unless something goes very wrong at the hair salon. To prevent a major hair disaster for the first few weeks of school, be sure you test out your newest haircut ideas before school’s back in session. Give yourself at least two weeks to try a new hairstyle at the hairdresser. That way if you really hate the new haircut or hair color, you still have time to let it grow out a little or time to get a new style in time for back-to-school.

When it comes to choosing a new hairstyle to wear in the first few weeks of school, take a look at the latest celebrity hairstyles for some inspiration. You can mimic a haircut of your favorite celebrities. Most of the time, these are the people who start the hair, makeup, and fashion trends anyway. For best results when getting a new haircut, bring a photo of your desired haircut with you to the stylist. Speak up about what you like and don’t like – do not go home with a haircut you dislike if you can help it! By sharing your preferences with your hairstylist, you should easily be able to go home with a haircut you love.

***

These are just a few suggestions for back-to-school beauty that you can try before the new school year. Remember to embrace your personal style and only follow the trends that you really like. Also, back-to-school time is a great time to treat yourself to a few new beauty products, so be sure to pick up a new mascara, eyeliner pencil, lip balm or lip gloss, and a few new hair accessories if you like. Have fun with your new back-to-school look!

LeCosmetique.com – Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Product Review

Product review of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars from LeCosmetique.com.I recently had the pleasure of getting to know Suzanne over at the very cool beauty boutique LeCosmetique.com. If you haven’t seen her store, you should really pay a quick visit. LeCosmetique truly does have makeup artistry essentials – all kinds of beauty goodies for girls, from professional makeup artists to everyday makeup lovers. You can find super cool makeup kits, eye shadow, makeup brushes, makeup cases, and so much more that I could never list it all in one article. Suzanne kindly sent me two styles of Lip Tar by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Read on for my review of these cool and long-lasting products.

No matter if you prefer a light, neutral tan or beige, a soft pink, or in-your-face blue, orange, purple, green, or even black, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tars are an amazing color treat for your lips. Even if you don’t like anything but the natural look, you can enjoy clear lip tar for a glossy, polished sheen.

I received two colors of the OCC Lip Tars – a bright fuchsia pink (“Pageant”) and a more muted rose pink (“Memento”). Both appear bold and rich Product review of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars from LeCosmetique.com.when applied to the lips, offering a satin finish. I don’t often wear a lot of lip color, but I am completely addicted to lip gloss and ChapStick type products, so I was very excited to test these lip tars. At first it was strange to see myself with such color on my lips. The pinks may be a little too pink for me since I’m more used to the plain gloss and the light brown shades with my olive skin. The lighter pink shade was a nice look on my lips when I kept the application to a minimum. I felt the brighter pink might have been too much of a statement for me personally, but it blended nicely with the lighter pink for a more manageable shade and a more natural look. OCC Lip Tars stay impressively stuck to your lips for hours. I was able to eat, drink, and work through at least four hours of the work day before I noticed that I’d need to reapply the lip color.

When I say a little bit goes a long way, don’t take this with a grain of salt – I am being 100% honest. Even the tiniest amount of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar will stain your lips to a beautiful, bold hue. Depending on your tastes and style preferences, it may even go on more boldly than you’d expect. If this is the case, simply blot some of the lip tar cosmetic off with a tissue or napkin. You can also change the color scheme by mixing and blending with other lip tar colors.

The first few times I tried the lip tar products, I did not have a lip brush on hand. I’ve read numerous reviews of OCC lip tars that express how easy it is to apply the lip color with a good lip brush. Unfortunately, since I failed to use one, I noticed that a small amount of lip color also tinted my fingertip and smudged across my teeth. Part of this problem was also because I had no idea how little lip tar I needed to apply for regular coverage. I was used to globbing on the typical lip gloss and lip balm, so I wasn’t expecting such a precise dot of color to go such a long way.

Once the lip tar dries after application, it doesn’t seem to rub off easily, which is a nice change. It also does not feel sticky or gooey, which is better yet. These colors truly are meant to be mixed, so have fun with the wild shades and the tamer shades or even black and white. These would be great products to have on hand for weddings, proms, and other special events as well as for the perfect in vivid, colorful Halloween costume makeup.

Product review of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars from LeCosmetique.com.

OCC Lip Tar is Vegan and cruelty-free. These products are free from harsh preservatives and parabens, and contain ingredients such as Castor Oil, Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil, Vitamin E, and intense color pigments.

Products provided free to writer for reviewIf you are interested in Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, you can get them at LeCosmetique.com for only $12.50 each and at various other retailers. The assortment of colors is truly worth a look!

•    Brides should consider fake eyelashes or special brush-on fiber lashes. The longer lashes look great in the wedding photos. Other members of the bridal party should leave the fake lashes for the bride.

•    Bridesmaids should check with the bride to ensure she is happy with how she looks. Some brides may be shy and may not want to speak up about how the make up or hair turned out. The bridesmaids should be vocal for the bride so she is fully happy and excited about her appearance on her wedding day.

•    Remember that the application is often heavier than you would expect, but it typically works great for photos. While you may not be used to darker lips, darker eyes, or foundation and blush all over your face, keep in mind that the makeup artist has your prettiest appearance in mind. Still, if you are uncomfortable with this level of wedding make up, simply ask for a more natural look.

•    If you choose to do your own wedding make up, be sure to cover the major areas. Choose appropriate colors for your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Apply a lightweight mineral foundation or powder to your face to even out your complexion. Don’t forget eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara.

•    Be sure to bring extra make up with you to the wedding for touchups. The bridesmaids should be able to help the bride and mother of the bride and groom with their make up touchups throughout the evening.

The most important thing in choosing wedding make up is to be comfortable and confident with the way you look. No matter if you are the bride, a mother, or a bridesmaid, it’s vital that you feel good about how you look so you can fully enjoy the special day.

Wedding Day Makeup Tips for Latina Women

Try these makeup tips for Latina women and Latina brides. One of the most common mistakes Latina brides make when choosing their wedding day makeup style is trying to look like someone they aren’t. You want to look soft and romantic, so keep the dark and dramatic look for the nightclubs. Remember the goal is not to look like a completely different person but to create the most beautiful version of yourself.

The following tips will help you enhance your natural beauty, not hide your essence.

FACE
Foundation must match your skin tone. Generally, Latina women have a darker skin tone and should select a foundation with darker base. To ensure an even application, start around the nose and mouth where there is redness then blend out to the rest of the face. To set the foundation, follow with a power.

Blush is essential for highlighting your cheekbones and achieving a healthy glow. Using two shades of blush will add depth to your look. Start with a blush that is the color of your skin when you are flushed. Apply to the apples of your cheeks following the cheekbone up to the hair line. Next, blend the deeper shade under the cheekbones. The colors you select should complement your skin tone. Brides should stick to a powder blush, as creams may smear.

Hispanic women should avoid white concealer as it enhances eye bags and stands out in photos. To better match an olive skin tone, mix white with an orange concealer or your foundation. Apply the concealer under the eyes and to problem areas.

EYES
Try these makeup tips for Latina women and Latina brides. In an effort to change their brow line, some Hispanic women may apply so much pencil in such dark colors it can look like their eyebrows are painted on. This creates a harsh, unapproachable look. For a soft, natural look, eyebrows should be the same color as your hair or a shade lighter. Always follow the natural brow line when applying pencil and don’t be heavy-handed.

Eye shadow is meant to accentuate, not overpower your natural eye color. To achieve a natural look, use eye shadows in lighter shades of brown. To make eyes look larger and farther apart, apply color in the crease, starting with a darker shade at the outside of the eyes and graduating to a lighter shade as you work your way in.  Apply a lighter complementary color to the eyelid.

Maximize your eyes with eyeliner, mascara, and an eyelash curler. Most Latinas do best with (color) liner and (color) mascara. Apply a thin line of eyeliner, to the lash line, from the inside of the eye, beginning where your lashes start, and work out. Next, apply the mascara and curl the lashes. To avoid raccoon eyes, wear waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

Don’t wear false eye lashes on your wedding day. Keeping them on throughout the ceremony and reception requires a lot of glue, causing the eyelids to get heavy and the eyes to turn red, making you look tired. If you are determined to wear them, use the type with the adhesive already applied.

LIPS
The purpose of lip liner is to define lips, while preventing lipstick from bleeding. Lip liner should match the color of the lipstick. Lip liner that is darker than the lipstick is outdated.  When applying, don’t go outside the lips, simply follow the lip line.

Lipstick should closely match your natural lip color, be neutral or off-white. You will be kissing a lot of people so be sure that your liner and lipstick are long lasting. Lip gloss must be constantly reapplied so unless you want to carry it around, use it only for the ceremony and photos.

TEST IT
Whether you plan to do your own makeup or hire a makeup artist, always have trial runs before the wedding. Also, be sure to take photos of each to see how the makeup looks in pictures.
