Yogurt is a wonderful snack to send to school for your child's lunch. (Photo by Susan M. Keenan)Breyer’s Swirled Low Fat Yogurt

Creamily delicious, these yogurts offer a healthy serving of flavored yogurt that allows the natural goodness of the yogurt to come through. The flavors that my family tried were spectacular and there wasn’t a single one that wasn’t immediately eaten up. If you have children, then you understand the importance of packaging and these yogurts came through with flying colors. Each one is designed to entice kids to try them with their cool names for flavors and the theme set out on the package.

From Disney Pixar Cars in Super Strawberry and Blazin’ Strawberry Banana to Disney My Friends Tigger & Pooh Superiffic Strawberry Vanilla and Think Think Peach to Disney Hannah Montana SuperStar Strawberry and Rockin’ Berry Blast to Disney Fairies Pixie Hollow Oranfe and Cherry Blossom, the kids loved them all! As a mom, I can say that I loved them because they are good sources of Vitamin A and D and a terrific source of calcium that comes in a single-serve 4 ounce cup.

Breyer’s YoCrunch 100 Calorie Nonfat Yogurt

Keenan)Breyer’s YoCrunch 100 calorie nonfat yogurt is a healthy choice for lunch, especially for weight-conscious people. Made with Erythritol, a natural sweetener, Breyer’s YoCrunch is packed full of Vitamins A and D while remaining low in calories. Plus, it contains live, active cultures to aid with healthy digestion. The four packs are easy to handle and fit into small spots in your fridge, so they don’t take up too much space. This yogurt is low in sodium and fat, while offering plenty of calcium.

An easy trick to use when packing yogurt for lunch is to partially freeze a 100% natural juice box to use as an ice pack. This will keep the yogurt cold and tasty. The flavors that my family tried and enjoyed include vanilla with chocolate chip topping, vanilla with Nestle Crunch topping, cheesecake with graham cookie topping, and strawberry with low fat granola topping.

Eggology Hardboiled Eggs are a nutritious snack for your little ones. (Photo by Susan M. Keenan)Eggology

If you are looking for an easy lunch that is also healthy, eggology eggs are the perfect choice for kids and even for yourself. Not only is the packaging attractive in bright blue, pink, or yellow, but also it is small enough for small hands to handle. The only complaint that I have with this item is that the opening could be more clearly marked, especially for the little ones to find. Once they find the right place to open it though, there’s no trouble at all. Each package comes with two peeled and ready-to-eat hardboiled eggs in a single plastic sleeve. Plus, you also get a small packet of salt and one of pepper that is perfect for sprinkling both eggs with that added bit of flavor. A great idea for a healthy lunch any time of the year!

Van’s All Natural Mini Waffles

Mini waffles are a healthy and delicious snack to send to school for your child's lunch. (Photo by Susan M. Keenan)Van’s All Natural Mini Waffles are offered in several delicious flavors. They are small enough to appeal to the younger ones and filling enough to satisfy any appetite. These are delicious, tasty treats that offer a wide assortment of flavors including blueberry, chocolate chip, homestyle and gluten free. There are enough choices for everyone’s taste.

The healthy part of these waffles enters the picture from the beginning since Van’s All Natural Mini Waffles have 0 grams of trans fat and no preservatives. With an excellent source of calcium, these tasty treats can be toasted to personal preference. Plus, there are 32 tasty miniature waffles in each box, so there are plenty to go around. The waffles are arranged in sets of four in a square shape that makes it easy to pop them in and out of the toaster.

While the suggested serving size is 3 sets of 4 waffles for only 210 calories, 2 sets of four is usually sufficient for the little ones in the household. These might be considered a little high on the sodium with 20% of suggested daily intake obtained by eating 3 sets of four. However, the daily intake would be a bit lower if only 2 sets of waffles were eaten with only 14% of the daily intake of salt being attained. Whether enjoying these for a healthy breakfast before school or for a healthy school lunch on a half day, Van’s All Natural Mini Waffles hit the spot.
