Cocktail Recipes for Your Mardi Gras Party – The Perfect Hurricanes

Perhaps there is nothing quite like an authentic New Orleans Hurricane Cocktail, but you can still have fun trying to concoct the perfect libation. Remember, there’s always more than one way to mix a drink, so get creative with your Hurricane recipes and please drink responsibly.


Try these exciting Southern Comfort Hurricane cocktail recipes at home:

SoCo Hurricane
1 ½ oz. Southern Comfort
1 ½ oz. sweet and sour mix
1 ½ oz. orange juice
1 ½ oz. pineapple juice
Splash of grenadine

  2. Add all ingredients to glass and stir.
  3. Garnish with an orange wedge and cherry.
  4. If you are making it for your group of friends, mix a batch in a pitcher in advance.
  5. Pour over an ice-filled glass and serve responsibly immediately.

SoCo & Lime Hurricane
3 oz. Southern Comfort
1 ½ oz. sweet and sour mix
1/2 oz. blue curacao
1/2 oz. sweetened lime juice

  1. Fill a sugar-rimmed hurricane glass with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients and stir.
  3. Garnish with a lime wedge and cherry.
