If you and your significant other enjoy alcoholic beverages, wine, and other specialty drinks, think about serving a special cocktail or dessert beverage for both of you to enjoy.

Consider these ideas for romantic after dinner drinks and dessert beverages:

-    Hot Chocolate with Malibu Rum
-    Ice Wine

-    Port **

Godiva offers three different liqueurs for chocolate lovers that go great straight over ice, mixed into dessert cocktails, or poured on top of your favorite ice cream. For the purpose of review, I received Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, and Godiva Mocha Liqueur. Godiva also offers Godiva Original Liqueur (dark chocolate), Godiva Caramel Milk Chocolate Liqueur. All of the flavors are versatile and offer countless options, from drinking on the rocks, drinking warm (toss into some hot chocolate or coffee!), served over ice cream, or mixed into creative cocktails. These liqueurs by Godiva truly make the perfect after dinner drinks!

Godiva Chocolate Liqueur is a great after-dinner drink or dessert topper.Try the chocolate flavor with raspberry or strawberry ice cream or liqueurs for a delicious fruity twist. You might also enjoy the white chocolate flavor over chocolate ice cream or coffee flavored ice cream, or mixed with a bit of orange sherbet. The mocha flavor of Godiva liqueur makes a nice accompaniment to coffee or chocolate like its keynotes. You can get creative, though, and experiment with different flavors to find the ones that taste best to you.

Godiva liqueurs also make excellent gifts for people who love chocolate but may not need another box of truffles or candy. These also would be a nice addition to a hen party or bachelorette party, not to mention a cute addition to the bridal shower drink menu (if you have one). The point is, Godiva Chocolate Liqueurs can be enjoyed just about anytime, anywhere, including at some of your favorite bars and restaurants if you would like to try it before you buy it.

Another great after dinner drink idea, W. & J. Graham’s Port or Dow’s Port make an especially elegant and classy digestif, traditionally consumed after a meal. Portuguese in heritage, Port is similar to wine but often carries a richer flavor and a fuller body with more sediment. Port tends to have a heavier sediment as an important characteristic due to spending the majority of its maturing process once inside the bottle.

Port is very nice to sip over dessert or after a hearty Italian meal. Typically on the sweeter side of red wine, port is often served as a dessert wine. It may be served chilled in warm weather.

For the purpose of review, I received several bottles by W. & J. Graham’s Port and Dow’s Port. My husband and I enjoyed a bottle with my dad over an Italian meal in a cute little BYO restaurant. It was the perfect conclusion to our meal, and I felt great sharing that special moment with my dad and husband. We also enjoyed Port at home during our own relaxing dessert time, where we indulged in dark chocolate candy along with our Port. I’m looking forward to enjoying the remaining bottles, which include Six Grapes, a type of Port said to feature a “superb, delicious fruit concentration.”

Graham’s Port and Dow’s Port are available in many styles, such as Tawny Ports that are aged in wooden barrels and the most renowned, Vintage Ports, which are crafted entirely from grapes of a certain (declared) vintage year. Vintage Ports age for two and a half years at the most before being bottled, and then continue to age for 10 – 30 years before they are ready to drink.
