Festive ChapStick Holiday Inspired Lip Balms

IMAG4041You can always count on ChapStick to keep your lips soft and kissable for the next big holiday or special occasion. I’ve always loved the fun flavors and products ChapStick brings to the lip care market, but I feel like the new holiday collection of limited edition gift tins and wintry flavors ups the ante this year. I constantly find myself thinking I need just one more little item for so-and-so when finishing up my holiday shopping, so this time I’m prepared ahead of schedule. I know just what I’ll buy for those people on my list who need a little extra TLC this year.

Like anyone, I have my favorite flavors and favorite lip products, but it’s exciting to add new lip balms to my stash when one season rolls into the next, or even on a passing whim. ChapStick kindly sent me a selection of their holiday lip balms and gift tins for the purpose of an honest review, and I’m delighted to share my experience with you.

ChapStick Classic Cherry
IMAG4135Okay, I’m convinced. It’s completely impossible to go wrong with ChapStick’s Classic Cherry lip balm. It is still the same flavor and fragrance I remember as a young girl trying out ChapStick for the very first time. It takes me back, but it is also so wonderfully smooth and tasty that it keeps me happy right where I am. I am pretty sure you’d have to be devoid of at least two of your five senses if you don’t like the cherry ChapStick, at least that’s my own humble opinion. This flavor is available separately or as part of a few variety-pack holiday gift tins by ChapStick, available at Walmart and Target in a nice collection of designs and colors.

ChapStick StrawberryIMAG4137
Similar to the cherry, the ChapStick Strawberry flavor is familiar and pleasant. I find these two to be lip balm staples. The strawberry flavor is nice for any time of year, and like its cherry counterpart, the soft pinkish shade of the lip balm is rather appealing. I don’t think there’s much else to say about the strawberry flavor – I like it and recommend it. Sometimes I could swear I caught a tiny tingle on my lips while using it, but I’ve also been using two minty flavors as well, so it’s hard to say….

ChapStick Spearmint
IMAG4134When it comes to chewing gum, spearmint is always my first pick. I find it tasty and refreshing, so it’s nice to see spearmint offered in a line of lip products as well. The ChapStick Spearmint flavor goes on just as smoothly as all the other ChapStick products, but it almost convinces me I’ve got fresher breath or a tingly kiss just waiting to happen. I adore its pale green hue.

And, you’ve guessed it—now I want a stick of gum. In fact, I think I would use this ChapStick for sure if I found out I had run out of gum. It would also be great right before a kiss. I like this one a lot – just remind me not to wear it outside in the bitter cold or I might think my lips are about to fall off!

ChapStick Limited Edition Candy Cane
IMAG4138The Candy Cane ChapStick flavor invigorates your senses with a burst of peppermint that starts as a fragrance and quickly escalates to a teasing tingle on your lips. (I guess the Spearmint one does this too, but I am feeling more inspired writing this part of the review!) I don’t usually prefer mint flavors aside from chewing gum, but this ChapStick is a winner due to its refreshing approach to lip care. After I applied this flavor to my lips, I lost track of how long the tingling lasted, perhaps because I got bored waiting for it to fade. In fact, my lips are still tingling now, about 20 minutes later. Candy Cane ChapStick is available individually wrapped or as part of a holiday gift tin.

The Candy Cane Swirl holiday tin (MSRP: $5.99, exclusively at Walgreens) contains three sticks of lip balm, making this a great gift for any girl who’s got to have a stick in her purse, pocket, and a spare (aka, me). I think this set would also be nice for sharing, since ChapStick products always seem to last nice and long, even though I apply them multiple times per day. I especially like the pretty design of the Candy Cane Swirl tin and look forward to picking up a few of these during my holiday shopping this year.

ChapStick Gingerbread Kiss
IMAG4136Surprisingly subtle, I like this ChapStick for that very reason. It has enough flavor for you to notice a hint of gingerbread, but it does not overpower your senses. I like that a lot, especially because I feel, at least for me personally, gingerbread is something I like once in a while around the holidays, but not all the time, and not necessarily over other cookie flavors. Chocolate chip, sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin – those I love all the time, but gingerbread is special for the holidays and I like it very much as a limited edition lip balm flavor from ChapStick. Think of it like when the pumpkin craze starts in the very early fall… if you aren’t one of the crazy pumpkin flavor fanatics, you certainly know one. (Looking in at least one friend’s general direction…) Gingerbread Kiss is a great lip balm to bring along for all your holiday visiting or to simply keep your lips soft and kissable while winter’s bite sinks in this year.

IMAG4140

When I showed my husband the new wintry offerings from this all-star lip care company, he told me I most certainly did not need any more lip balms or ChapSticks. He still remembers a plastic box or drawer I had in college with “at least 200 ChapSticks,” he swears. I’m pretty sure it was a small tub with about 30 or so sticks, but I guess that’s the difference between a lip balm enthusiast and the person lucky enough to be their mate!

IMAG4129

I must admit, my only disappointment in the whole experience of testing and tasting these delightful flavors is that, try as I might to avoid it, I almost always peeled some of the label off the ChapStick tube when trying to break the seal holding the cap in place. Perhaps you’ll have better luck. Not that it matters AT ALL, but I just like my ChapSticks to look as nice as they taste, if it even matters to anyone besides me.

IMAG4040

I really love ChapStick® Collector’s Edition Ornament Tins and the individual flavors. I can’t wait to pick out a few holiday recipients with whom I can share the joy. (Truth be told, I also can’t wait to see what comes out next from ChapStick… Valentine’s flavors like chocolate-covered strawberry or champagne kiss? St. Patrick’s flavors? Easter styles teeming of coconut, dark chocolate, and marshmallow? I can hardly contain myself. ChapStick, if you’re reading this, please don’t keep us in suspense too long!)

IMAG4144You can find a variety of ChapStick’s holiday sets at Target, Walgreens, and Walmart, making your holiday shopping just a bit easier this year. For additional information, be sure to check out www.chapstick.com or visit ChapStick on facebook at www.facebook.com/chapstick.

ChapStick MixStix™ Flavor Blending Lip Balm Product Review

chapstick-mixstixI may be a sucker for lip balm products, but I am even more of one for lemonade products that feature a twist of raspberry. I’ve never known a lip balm to offer such a delightful combination, until now.

I recently had some amazing luck in being offered a chance to try ChapStick’s new MixStix™ lip moisturizers, which come in three, make that six, tantalizing flavors. I couldn’t believe my luck when I learned that Lemon Berry Sorbet is one of those phenomenal flavors! Of course, I dug into that one first.

By themselves, the lemon flavor and the berry flavor are amazing. I could use them all day long, especially the lemon, but really both are incredible. I hope these products stick around for a while because I think I have to make sure I’ve always got one on hand. The light taste of Lemon Berry Sorbet ChapStick MixStix is perfect for summer but will bring you bliss any time of year. I love the way it reminds me of a raspberry lemonade cocktail or a sweet, endless summertime without a care in the world.

The next flavor I tried was Strawberry Banana Smoothie—another flavor combo that is right up my alley. I’ve owned a few strawberry banana lip balm products in my day, but this one is by far my favorite of all those. The gloss goes on so smoothly and tastes wonderful. The strawberry is reminiscent of most strawberry balms—just enough flavor without being overpowering, but the banana is incredible. It really reminds me of the banana flavored Runts candies. SO GOOD!!

Green Apple Caramel is the third flavor available in the Mixstix lineup, and it has a nice flavor reminiscent of the fall season. It reminds me of making caramel apples in college, or visiting an apple orchard with the fresh scent of granny smiths and McIntosh apples in the air. The apple side of the lip balm is divine and I’d enjoy using this side even all by itself. The caramel side reminds me just a bit of coffee, probably since many coffee flavors now incorporate a caramel element. I would say this combo is my third favorite out of the three choices, but I really do like all three.

IMAG2609Each stick has 11 different moisturizers, including Aloe. The lip balms themselves have a nice, hydrating formula that goes on very smoothly, leaving lips soft and kissable. What a brilliant idea to have lip balms that give the option to combine flavors in a single stick! Use these yummy ChapSticks individually for delicious flavors or combine them for a fun twist on a new flavor – Caramel Apple, Strawberry Banana, or Berry Lemonade, YUM!

These lip balms retail for between $2.99 and $3.99. You can find ChapStick MixSticks exclusively at Walgreens. For more information, be sure to check out the ChapStick® Website and ChapStick® Facebook page.

ChapStick Cupcake Creations Product Review – Velvet Cupcake and Cake Batter Lip Balm

Chapstick Cupcake CreationsAnyone who knows me or reads my articles knows how obsessed I am with lip balms, lip glosses, and ChapStick style products for lips. I love the flavors and how soft and kissable your lips remain after product use. I am always on the lookout for new flavors, with some of my all-time favorites being raspberry, coconut, strawberry kiwi, and chocolate varieties. In case you haven’t heard—or even if you have; it’s well worth repeating—ChapStick brings two delectable new flavors to its offerings: Velvet Cupcake and Cake Batter, in its Cupcake Creations product line.

I received two sample ChapSticks in each flavor, as well as a gourmet cupcake mix and cute party supplies to tie it all together. (If only my daughter were a year older – I am sure she would love to have a little birthday party for one of her stuffed animals!) [FTC disclaimer – While I am thrilled to be able to partner with ChapStick to get my hands on these yummy lip goodies right away, my review is what it is, my honest feelings about the product. Don’t think I’m swayed by the special delivery! ]

That being said, I am so excited about these new flavors! I have always loved baked goods, and who doesn’t love cupcakes?! What I think I love most is that ChapStick acknowledges that not all people are vanilla cake fans or chocolate cake fans (or Red Velvet, etc.), but these yummy lip balms cater to both the vanilla and the chocolate camps. The Velvet Cupcake is by far my favorite, purely because I love chocolate and anything similar to it. I think the flavor and fragrance really do capture the essence of a red velvet cake or cupcake, so if you love these, don’t miss out on this new ChapStick!

The Cake Batter flavor is also delicious, and sure to be a big hit for vanilla fans and anyone who enjoys a little cake batter flavoring. (Who can wait all that time for the cake to bake, anyway!?) Those who simply enjoy all things vanilla will also appreciate this lip balm and its delightful and realistic scent and flavor. It reminds me of a Tahitian Vanilla candle I have just about burned to the bottom due to its lovely, aromatic fragrance.

Like all ChapStick products, these sweet flavors moisten our lips and keep them feeling soft and smooth. After using either flavor, my lips feel hydrated and glossy—such a great feeling, especially this time of year. I like to reapply whenever I think of it, so I always keep one or the other in my pocket and my purse. These sweet lip treats are too good to keep all to yourself, and so I actually shared my second set with my mom. These lip balms come in packaging that features a little gift tag design on the back, making them easily giftable or a great accent to a wrapped package.

Velvet Cupcake and Cake Batter are both limited edition flavors, so be sure to get yours before they run their course. The Cupcake Creations collection launched February 1, 2013 and should be available until approximately March 31, 2013. This collection sells exclusively at CVS, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens stores across the country.

ChapStick® Raspberry Crème Moisturizer & ChapStick Sport Ready Review

Raspberry Creme ChapStick ReviewIt’s no secret that I’m a sucker for raspberry flavors. I saw that ChapStick® now offers its popular lip moisturizer in a wonderful raspberry crème flavor, and I couldn’t wait to try it. I happily accepted the offer of a free ChapStick Raspberry Crème Moisturizer for the purpose of this review. Find out what I really think about this product below!

I have to say, first and foremost, that I am somewhat distressed when I can’t find my new ChapStick in my purse or pocket. I’ve suffered through a few different occasions where I misplaced my Raspberry Crème lip balm for days at a time, finally finding it in a coat pocket or other unexpected location. In recent days I’ve enjoyed much better luck with keeping it close at hand. The flavor is THAT good that I don’t want to miss a day without this lip product. I will most certainly be buying more ChapStick Raspberry Crème when this one runs out in the coming weeks or months.

Boasting Aloe and Vitamin E among its ingredients, ChapStick Raspberry Crème Moisturizer glides smoothly and comfortably onto the lips, adding a dose of SPF 15 sunscreen protection. It is comfortable to wear and seems to last a rather long time once applied. The fragrance and flavor are tantalizing – I only wish I had a chocolate flavored lip balm to apply at the same time!

I also had the pleasure of trying ChapStick® Sport Ready lip balm, which is aimed at protecting the lips of those who are active and athletic. Especially great for skiers and other adventure-seekers, ChapStick Sport Ready features a cool clip top for easy access anywhere you go. This lip product also works hard to protect your lips from the elements, giving a stronger dose of SPF 30 sun block and a water-resistant formula, effective for up to 80 minutes, that works great by the beach or at the pool.

The Raspberry Crème Lip Moisturizer retails for .99 to $1.99 and Sport Ready sells for $2.59 to $2.99 at your favorite drugstores, grocery stores, and mass market retailers. Learn more about ChapStick products at www.chapstick.com.

Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter Review

Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter ReviewWhenever I see something with strawberry banana flavoring, I usually have to try it. This normally applies to smoothies and lip balms. It was a no-brainer when I saw Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter on clearance for 75% off at my local CVS. (If you run out in the next few days, you might be able to find it, too.) I really like the flavor of this product – it isn’t subtle, so if you like a lighter flavor it may not be for you, but I feel, especially at 75% off the normal price, it is well worth a try!

Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter comes in a small tub that is probably the diameter of a half-dollar or maybe a little bit bigger. The first thing I want to tell you, before you dig in zealously, excited to get a taste of this lip softening product, is that the lip butter is super soft and a little bit goes a long way. I made that mistake on my first application and needed a napkin for the bit of extra lip butter left over.

The color of the lip butter is a fantastic shade of pink that matches exactly what you would expect for strawberry banana. The taste is a sweet and fruity blend of both fruits that reminds you of the perfect, refreshing smoothie by the same flavor. The texture is a bit more of a gel than a balm, so be prepared to have your lips feel just a bit sticky from time to time.

As far as ingredients go, Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter contains mineral oil, Shea butter, Beeswax, and Mango seed butter. It also contains Petrolatum (inconclusive), so I probably won’t use anymore in the next few months since I’m expecting, just to be on the safe side.

I think this product cost between $1 and $2 since it was deeply discounted at my local CVS. I did like that the tub has a foil seal so you can tell it’s never been opened or used by anyone until you open it. I believe the normal retail price for Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter is about $4.

Mission Skincare Pink Lemonade Serena Williams SPF 15 Lip Balmer Review

Mission Skincare Pink Lemonade Lip Balmer ReviewIt doesn’t take much to inspire me to buy a new tube of lip balm. In fact, the last time I was at CVS, I bought a tube and a tub. In my experience, it’s hard to have too many chapsticks. The other day I was at CVS picking up a prescription for my husband for his cold, and I just happened to pass by a lip balm display, so of course I had to check it out. I ended up coming home with Mission Skincare Pink Lemonade Serena Williams SPF 15 Lip Balmer and Essence of Beauty Strawberry Banana Lip Butter in a tub, which I haven’t opened yet. I’m a sucker for both of these flavors. First things first though, the pink lemonade Serena Williams lip balm…

The tube is thicker than a Softlips but minimally thinner than a Bonne Belle or a Crazy Rumors. It is a good height that makes it easier to find in your purse, but it is still small enough for your pocket. I especially like that the product has SPF15, making it perfect for the beach, sports, swimming, and spending time outside just about anywhere. It is also supposed to be effective in harsh weather conditions. This is a great lip balm to add to your collection, as it glides on smooth and silky with a nice creamy texture that seems to hydrate my lips longer than the average chapstick.

Mission Skincare Pink Lemonade Serena Williams SPF 15 Lip Balmer contains the active ingredients Octinoxate and Oxybenzone, both being sunscreen for UVA / UVB sun protection. Some other infredients include Beeswax, Candelilla wax, Olive fruit oil, Rosemary leaf extract, Echinacea Purpurea extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Pomegranate seed oil, Cranberry seed oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K, to name a few.

The product is vitamin-enriched and paraben-free, making it a good, healthy choice for your lips. Clinical tests prove the moisturizing effects can last for up to eight hours when using this product. I really do notice a lasting effect and I’ve been grabbing for this product first when looking for a lip balm in my purse. The flavor is subtle, but there. I don’t find it to have the same zing as the Bonne Belle pink lemonade chapstick, but it is a more upscale and utilitarian product thanks to the sleek styling and the inclusion of sunscreen.

If you want to try out this appealing lip smoothing and hydrating goodie, simply check out your favorite local drugstore or mass market retailer. Mission Skincare Pink Lemonade Serena Williams SPF 15 Lip Balmer sells for around $3.99 per tube.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter Review

Palmer's Chocolate Cherry Lip Butter ReviewIt’s no secret that I am a sucker for just about all things chocolate. From candy and desserts to a chocolate scented heat wrap and cocoa butter lotion, I’m always on the lookout for my next chocolate fix. When I heard about the new Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter, I couldn’t be more excited to try it. In addition to being completely enamored with chocolate, I am a total lip balm fanatic. It came as absolutely no surprise to me upon trying it for the very first time, that this Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter by Palmer’s is an absolute must-have product for anyone who loves chocolate and lip balms. I’m truly smitten.

First, you remove the cap on the generous tube of lip butter to unleash a tantalizing aroma that reminds you of the most decadent chocolate desserts and sugary concoctions. (We also once tried a chocolate-cherry wine that also hit similar chords of pure bliss.) The scent alone makes this product one you won’t leave home without. As you smooth the creamy lip butter onto your lips, the texture is so soothing and delightful that you can’t imagine you’ve lived without this lip product until now. Chapped, dry, and even wind-burnt lips gain instant relief from this incredible product.

Of course, what you really want to know is all about the chocolate and cherry flavors. Paired together, this is an unbeatable combination that brings memories of holiday cherry cordials and Valentine’s heart boxes with only the best chocolates inside. I swear I could even taste a bit of the tantalizing chocolate and cherry flavor on the first application. The sweet scent lingers as long as you wear the lip butter, and I’m glad to say that reapplication is needed much less frequently than typical lip products. Oh, and the lip butter is a clear and creamy gel with a petrolatum base that adds a touch of glossy shine to your lips – you can wear it under or over your regular lip color products.

The scent and texture alone make this product a complete steal for the unbelievably low $2 or $3 that you’ll pay for a .35 oz tube, but you’re going to love all the other benefits that come along with it. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter contains Vitamin E and real Cocoa Butter to soothe your lips while softening, adding moisture, and warding off dryness and that chapped appearance that is so common for so many of us this time of year. The cherry and Vitamin E ingredients bring the power of antioxidants while the Cocoa Butter adds protection and healing properties each time you apply. And in case you didn’t know, the addition of dark chocolate triggers the endorphins for a blissful state of mind.

In full disclosure, I received one tube of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter for the purpose of this review. The fact that I got this lip goodie for free plays no part in my review – I would have gladly paid double the MSRP for this product based on how it’s performed and how much I like it so far. (But don’t tell Palmer’s that!) Even using this product just three times since receiving it, I can’t be happier with the results. The emollient lip butter keeps my lips soft, smooth, and hydrated, which is so important to me, especially in the wintertime.

Lastly, whether you are attached or single, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate & Cherry Lip Butter is truly a feel-good product that you should pick up for yourself in time for Valentine’s Day. Even if you are planning to celebrate Anti-Valentine’s Day, you really can’t blame the chocolate. The flavor and fragrance make this one of my honest-to-goodness, must-have products – seriously, if you love chocolate and lip gloss products, trust me on this one. For a meager $2.25 retail price per tube, you will not be disappointed. In fact, you might just retire some of your other go-to lip products.

Crazy Rumors Fresh Squeezed Lip Balm Review

Crazy Rumors Lip Balm ReviewLip balm, ChapStick, and other lip gloss products are some of my very favorites when it comes to beauty goodies. I was excited to learn about Crazy Rumors Fresh Squeezed Lip Balm and even happier to receive two flavors for the purpose of this review. Four citrus flavors make up this organic beauty collection, including Orange Juice, Pink Grapefruit, Lemonade, and Limeaid.

I really enjoyed the citrus flavors of the Crazy Rumors Fresh Squeezed lip balms. I got to try Pink Grapefruit and Limeaid, which are both very refreshing. These lip products have a slightly waxy taste as well, but it’s not a bad taste – just an organic kind of taste. Crazy Rumors lip balms are also cruelty free and vegan certified products. They contain natural and organic ingredients to soothe your lips and keep your kisses soft. Certified organic ingredients include Jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil, Shea butter, and Vitamin E.

I would love to try the lemonade and orange juice flavors one day as well. I’m impressed with both the pink grapefruit and limeaid varieties – very yummy and nice to have on hand on a hot summer day or any time of year.

These lip balms by Crazy Rumors are available in a multi-pack of four yummy citrus flavors or you can get them separately as well. They are available at $3.49 a piece or $13.49 for the four piece juice collection. For more information, check out http://crazyrumors.com.

Perfect Lip Gloss for Raspberry Lovers – Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Lip Shine

Maybe it isn’t fair for me to write this review, since I am a huge fan or raspberry as well as all things lip balm or lip gloss. Or maybe that makes me the perfect person to write this review. Either way, I am super excited to share with you the amazing find that is Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet Lip Shine. This is my best beauty splurge yet – I believe I spent a full $10 on this goodie, but it’s well worth the cost for this luxurious lip treat that I’ll enjoy all summer long, and beyond.

“Sweet kisses are the best treat,” the tube of raspberry shine says boldly, reminding us of another great reason why we love lip gloss so much. This lip product has a distinctive sparkle and a rich raspberry taste that is out of this world. The tube is a nice size, 14 g. / 0.5 oz, which is typically easy to find inside even the biggest black-hole of a purse. I have had this for several months and though I don’t use it compulsively (I have about 80 lip balm products, probably), I find it just lasts and lasts.

So the raspberry flavor is my favorite. I also love the sparkle and shine this beauty goodie adds to your lips. It is rich and emollient without feeling too sticky. I also enjoy that I can stand it upright on my makeup counter bathroom counter when I’m getting dolled up in the morning.

You can get this wonderful raspberry-flavored lip shine product at Sephora or online at Amazon.com. Believe me when I tell you, if you like raspberry, Philosophy, and lip products, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Lip Gloss Bracelet Gifts and Party Favors for Little Girls or Elegant Accessories for Women

Did you ever have cool kind of lip gloss jewelry as a child? I had a plastic lip gloss bracelet that had a cheery pink lip color inside. Granted lip balms and lip glosses have come a long way in 20 years, but it’s exciting to see that some of our childhood products are still available, with upgrades. Lip gloss bracelets are available to suit girls of any age, from young girls wanting to start experimenting with makeup to women who need to keep lip gloss within reach at all times.

Several types of lip gloss bracelet gifts are available for purchase, from the elegant KLS lip gloss bracelet to the Dior lip gloss bracelet for adults and the Dora Star Catcher Lip Gloss Bracelets and assorted Disney lip gloss bracelets. Little girls’ lip gloss bracelets make great gifts and party favors instead of the traditional party bag. If you are more interested in lip gloss bracelet styles for adults, consider the Dior Lip Gloss Bracelet. The Dior Gourmette Lip Gloss Bracelet offers women two of their great loves in one product – jewelry and makeup! Two lovely shades of Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss (Pink Shimmer and Light Bronze Shimmer) are contained in this special silver ID style bracelet.

C.O. Bigelow Product Reviews – Lemon Hand Lotion, Mentha Lip Shine/Breath, Lemon Lip Balm

C.O. Bigelow Product ReviewsC.O. Bigelow was established in 1838; making them the oldest apothecary in America. (Apothecary = same as pharmacist/pharmacy) They’re located in New York City’s West Village. C.O. Bigelow sells everything from personal care and baby care to home fragrances and gifts as well as…the apothecary. I was given an opportunity to try three random products from C.O. Bigelow and I have to tell you, I am truly amazed. I had a wonderful time testing each one of them and will proudly recommend C.O. Bigelow to others.

If you like lemons, then consider trying any one of Bigelow’s Lemon hand lotions No. 1700; ARP: $12.00 (which I received), or Bigelow Lemon Hand wash, body creams, etc. It will make you smell like a fresh cut lemon with a hint of subtle sweetness (like candy). The lemony aroma will stay long after you’ve applied the lotion or used the hand wash and what’s more, the body lotion will leave your skin feeling so soft and silky, not oily or pasty. Plus, you don’t need much. As far as Bigelow’s Lemon Body Lotion is concerned, a little goes a long way.

I don’t think I can recall ever smelling anything like it; similar…maybe, but nothing exact. I am a citrusy type of gal. I like smelling oranges, tangerines, lemons, and limes. So, when I use a fragranced body lotion that smells of fresh cut lemons or sweet smelling oranges, I can’t help but go crazy!

I was also given the opportunity to try Bigelow’s Mentha Lip Shine/Breath #502; ARP: $7.50.
I actually use this quite often because of the breath freshening feature. The chilling mint sensation on my lips isn’t half bad either. It feels great!

C.O. Bigelow Product ReviewsEating salty foods and popcorn is a vice I have. I love eating things that cause my temperature to rise a few degrees and sadly, the saltier is always better. Unfortunately, this means chapped lips for me. I am forever using some sort of lip balm or lip shine just to keep the dryness and cracking to a minimum.

When I used the Mentha lip shine, I instantly felt that chilling relief on my lips. I loved it. The effects are instant and every time I use it, it feels like I just slipped a piece of chewing gum into my mouth. It’s very refreshing!

The only thing I didn’t quite like, but will deal with, is the fact that it’s a little thicker (in texture) compared to a lip balm, which is what I use most often. It’s creamier. But again, it’s not enough for me to say I’d never use it again. I love the smell, tingly feel, and taste of the Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine.

The final product I received was…a yummy, silky smooth, softening lemony lip balm (AKA: Bigelow Lemon Lip Balm No. 1421; ARP~$7.50). Now this is what made my heart skip a beat; it was scrumptiously tasty, totally soothing, and simply nourishing!

I cannot describe how nice this lip balm feels once it touches the lips. I love it so much. It was comparable to eating a piece of lemon candy. Sweet, lemony, and oh so tasty! The absolute favorite (in my book)! It’s definitely a recommended item, too. Especially if what you crave is sweet goodness on your lips.

Overall thoughts:
I think each one of these products deserves an A+ for satisfaction of use. The scents, textures, feels, and effects were top notch. I can’t think of a single reason why I shouldn’t recommend C.O. Bigelow products to anyone. I was 100% satisfied.

Each product deserves a five-star rating from me!

If you’d like to learn more about the products reviewed here today, or would like to see what else C.O. Bigelow has to offer, please visit www.bigelowchemists.com.

Okay, all kidding aside, if we don’t take care of our lips, especially as we get older, no one is going to want to kiss us anymore. Well, maybe they just might not enjoy it as much as they could have with silkily-smooth, luscious lips to kiss.

Try Arcelia Lip Scrub Tins for smooth, soft, and kissable lips.Arcelia sugar lip scrubs come in three fresh-scented varieties: Sage Brush, Margarita, and Sopapilla. Containing beeswax and natural oils, each one offers a moisturizing experience that is pleasant. All you need to do to polish up your lips is to apply, rub, and rinse. It only takes a minute or two, so this should be part of your beauty routine each week.

One of the cool facets to Arcelia’s scrubs is that they are sold in neat little tins that are easy to open and close. This fact makes these scrubs user-friendly, especially for women who might be experiencing the early signs of arthritis in their hands.

Just in case you don’t read the labels, it is important to note that each one of these sugar lip scrubs might contain a bit of salt. I did not notice any salty taste until I gently rinsed my lips. It’s a mild taste though. Believe it or not, I noticed more salt in the Margarita lip scrub, which happened to be my favorite one anyway with Sage Brush as a close second. These are actually quite similar so there isn’t that much difference among them.

In addition to using a lip scrub product weekly to remove dead cells and rejuvenate your smoochers for happy kissing, you should apply a soothing lip balm to help keep your lips moisturized and fresh. The balms are sold in tiny little tins just like the lip scrubs so they are easy to carry and easy to open.

Arcelia offers five adorable lip balms: Sassy Sangria, Mojito Lime, Hibiscus Tea, Mucho Mango, and Beer: 30. With names like these, even your honey can enjoy them. Surprisingly enough, they all smell somewhat like their names with the exception of Beer: 30, which does not seem to remind me of beer at all.

The Arcelia label is part of the Herban Renewal group of products. You can purchase the Arcelia scrubs and balms at http://www.herbanrenewalinc.com/arcelia.html.
